Asmali Hotel

Location

The hotel is located approximately 300 metres south of the Blue Mosque in the Sultanahmet area of the city, in a family neighbourhood. All the major sightseeing attractions are within a 15 to 20-minute walk and the Marmara Sea is just a 3-minute walk away. There are links to the public transport network some 300 metres away and there are also restaurants and shops within walking distance. Ataturk International Airport is some 18 km away and Sabiha Gokcen International Airport is about 45 km from the establishment.

Facilities

The hotel occupies an old Turkish townhouse that was built in 1946 and restored by the owners in 2007. It was brought to life as a modern hotel but retains its architectural charms. Its wooden façade and window shutters are typical of the many old houses which could be found all over the old city until the mid-20th century. There is a pleasant rooftop terrace restaurant serving snacks and local food and offering superb views over the historical peninsula. There are 16 rooms in total at this charming historical hotel. Guests are welcomed in the lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services, and a currency exchange. A bar, wired and wireless Internet access, and room and laundry services (both for additional fees) are also available.

The pretty rooms are decorated in a traditional, local style and have modern en suite bathroom amenities including shower and hairdryer.
